 East Erie Speed Check Shooting Under Investigation Article Written: August 26, 2022 at 3:19 PM Erie Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 4 am on Sunday outside the Speed Check convenience store. The shooting took place on the corner of East Lake Road and Dunn Boulevard in the Bay Lights neighborhood of East Erie. Erie Police have noticed a significant increase in crime in neighborhoods that have added a Speed Check store and are starting to investigate the Bay Lights Speed Check store as well. Erie Police will continue to investigate the shooting.

The house was owned by Walter Gray of Erie who passed away in November, 2021, the house was then handed over to his daughter Doretha Gray who was living in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Erie in the home in 2021. Dollar General is opening up a new store at 2405 Buffalo Road (Corner of Buffalo Road & Harrison Street) in the Diehl neighborhood of East Erie.  Last Day for East Erie CVS Comes Tomorrow Article Written: August 8, 2022 at 3:50 PM Tomorrow is the last day of operation at the CVS Pharmacy location at 1407 Buffalo Road in Burton Heights in East Erie. The company announced in early July that the Buffalo Road CVS would close after the company announced they would be closing 200 of their locations, Buffalo Road being one of them. The Burton Heights CVS will be permanently closed tomorrow on August 9, 2022. We spoke to some residents who were walking in the areas of Buffalo Road and Broad Street to see what their thoughts were on the closure.  Man Injured in Sunday Night Shooting in Erie Article Written: August 8, 2022 at 3:23 PM Erie Police responding to a shooting at 559 West 29th Street. Erie, Pennsylvania There was a heavy police presence in the 500 block of West 29th Street near Cherry Street in Erie Sunday night. Erie Police responded to a shots fired call around 7:30 PM after residents told police that there was a ton of gunshots in the area. Erie Police told Burton Neighborhood News that a man was shot in the shoulder, there was no other information if the man was inside or outside the house when he was shot. Other sources claim that the shooting victim was a teenager but Erie Police have not confirmed that as of yet. In this same area in the 2600 block of Cherry Street, an 18 year old man was shot while he was sleeping in bed in July, 2021. The victim, Kalvin Davis of Erie died from a gunshot wound to the head.  Erie Police Searching for Suspects after Friday Night Central Eastside Shooting Article Written: August 6, 2022 at 11:37 AM A shooting occurred last night around 12 am in the Central Eastside neighborhood of East Erie. Erie Police are still searching for suspects after a victim was shot in the 700 block of East 24th Street near Wayne Street in Central Eastside. The victim was taken to UPMC Hamot and was released from the hospital after the injuries were not intense. Erie Police are still currently investigating the shooting,

 Multiple Houses Struck by Gunfire Throughout the City of Erie Article Written: August 2, 2022 at 7:49 PM Erie Police are now searching for the suspects who shot at multiple houses and cars throughout the City of Erie. Around 10:30 pm Sunday night, Erie Police were called to the 700 block of Poplar Street in the Garden Court neighborhood of Erie, just outside of West Bayfront for multiple shots fired at houses and cars. Police found a dozen shell casings of different gun calibers. Neighbors in the Garden Court neighborhood were frightened by the shooting as a few of the neighbors were sitting on their front patios worried that they were gonna die. Later that evening around 12:45 am, Erie Police responded to another Shots Fired call in the 1000 block of East 5th Street near East Avenue in the Bay Lights neighborhood of East Erie.
