 Man Injured in Sunday Night Shooting in Erie

Erie Police responding to a shooting at 559 West 29th Street.

There was a heavy police presence in the 500 block of West 29th Street near Cherry Street in Erie Sunday night. Erie Police responded to a shots fired call around 7:30 PM after residents told police that there was a ton of gunshots in the area. Erie Police told Burton Neighborhood News that a man was shot in the shoulder, there was no other information if the man was inside or outside the house when he was shot. Other sources claim that the shooting victim was a teenager but Erie Police have not confirmed that as of yet. In this same area in the 2600 block of Cherry Street, an 18 year old man was shot while he was sleeping in bed in July, 2021. The victim, Kalvin Davis of Erie died from a gunshot wound to the head. Erie Police are getting highly concern of the uptick of shots fired calls in the city in 2022, especially since most of the victims have been teenagers.
