Diehl, Erie, Pennsylvania

The New Dollar General store on the corner of Buffalo Road & Harrison Street in the Diehl neighborhood of East Erie will be possibly opening up next week. The company is just looking for one more extra manager to hire before they can fully open up the Diehl Dollar General. Associate Daniel Kurtman who was just hired a few days ago was helping stock items on the shelves preparing for the Grand Opening. "I can't say when the store will open but were hoping for sometime next week or in the next two weeks but I doubt it will be that long, so were all looking forward to hopefully opening the store next week if plans go well." says Mike Corzinski who is a General Manager at the new Dollar General store. Dollar General has over 20+ stores all over Erie County and the opening of this Dollar General location was a long time coming. "There are only two Dollar General stores near this area and one is 2.9 miles away from here and another is 1.6 miles away which is hard for people in the Burton and Diehl neighborhoods of Erie to walk to. We will be happy to be serving the customers in the East Erie and Wesleyville area!" says Mike. The land was originally an extra parking lot for the Meadow Brook Dairy Company at 2365 Buffalo Road in Diehl, which closed nearly four years ago in 2018, the parking lot was just left abandoned. Dollar General's owner, CS Capital Partners was able to get demolition and building permits for the lot known as 2405 Buffalo Road in 2021 and started construction in May, 2022. Dollar General is hoping to have a grand opening as soon as possible for the new Buffalo Road store.
