 Erie Rapper Charged with Attempted Homicide for July Shooting in East Erie Article Written: August 2, 2025 10:30 AM 26 year old Rod Tate of Lawrenceville, Georgia Charged and arrested by Erie Police Department An Erie rapper was recently charged for being involved with a shooting in East Erie in July. 26 year old Rod Tate of Lawrenceville, Georgia, who is originally from East Erie, was charged with attempted homicide after firing at a crowd of 11 people at 8 PM on July 20th at the intersection of East 24th Street and Wallace Street in the Central Eastside neighborhood. A 28 year old East Erie man was hit by the gunfire and suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh during the incident. The affidavit states that social media posts as far as November 2024 reveal an ongoing feud between Tate and the victim. East 27th Street & German Street Marvintown, Erie, Pennsylvania Residents in the City of Erie are outraged after a Pennsylvania State Police Parole Officer shot and killed an unarmed Erie man Wednesday night. The shooting occurred around 10 PM at the intersection of East 27th Street and German Street in the Marvintown neighborhood of East Erie. The victim, which has been identified as 43 year old Marchello Woodard of Erie, was reportedly sitting in his car when Pennsylvania State Police decided to do a traffic stop on the vehicle.  Multiple Shootings Throughout the City of Erie, Suspects Still at-large Article Written: May 10, 2025 10:15 AM Erie Police are still searching for suspects involved in multiple shooting and gun-related incidents throughout the City of Erie this week. As of now, Erie Police are unsure is the shooting incidents are possibly connected or if there are more people involved.  The first incident occurred on April 30th when Erie Police were dispatched to Rodger Young Park in the Burton neighborhood of East Erie for a report of an unknown male chasing people with a gun. Joyce A. Savocchio Business Park, which had its name changed to Savocchio Opportunity Park in 2023 as major development was underway for the vacant business park. The business park which opened in 2005 had only one business which is Paragon Print Systems, well a new business has recently opened in the park. Country Fair says this new store is the Flagship Store of the whole chain and one of the largest locations. The store is having a soft opening tomorrow on April 22, and their grand opening will be May 7. The Country Fair store also plans to sell fruits, vegetables, and other options you would find at a grocery store, not typically sold at Country Fair stores.
