Rite Aid, which filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in May, after the company was reportedly coming back after a previous bankruptcy. More Rite Aid stores were shut down recently in Erie County, leaving some neighborhoods without a pharmacy.
Rite Aid closed multiple Erie County pharmacies, the two remaining Rite Aid stores in the City of Erie were also closed which were in Downtown Erie and South Erie Hillside. Other neighborhoods such as Burton in East Erie, will be losing another one of its closest pharmacies, Rite Aid at 4145 Buffalo Road in Harborcreek Township, leaving many Burton, Diehl, and Wesleyville residents only two pharmacies to choose from which is Walmart Pharmacy at 2711 Elm Street in East Erie and Giant Eagle Pharmacy at 4265 Buffalo Road in Harborcreek Township.
