 More Members of 4-Nation Indicted in FBI Investigation Article Written: June 15, 2023 at 2:34 PM More members of the East Erie street gang were indicted on drug charges after an investigation was done by the FBI of Pittsburgh. 4-Nation, a street gang in the 400 block of East 24th Street in the Central Eastside neighborhood of East Erie was pretty much ended after most of its members were charged. 50 people who were identified as 4-Nation gang members were being seen distribute in Jamestown, New York, Ashtabula, Ohio and Corry, Pennsylvania. Drugs were also being disturbed to other towns in Erie County like Millcreek Township, Lawrence Park and Wesleyville. The FBI and Erie Police are not convinced this will improve the City of Erie but believe it is a start to cleaning up the streets and Erie’s major drug problem.

The East Side Renaissance is tired of seeing Erie’s East Side keep getting ignored. “Parade Street has been struggling for a long time now as violence in the area has increased and it’s pushing businesses out and making this area abandoned, it’s been getting worse year by year and it’s about time that this deserves to change.” says  Bishop Dwane Brock who is the CEO of East Side Renaissance.  Central Eastside Gang Indicted for Drug Distribution Article Written: June 14, 2023 at 9:59 AM 22 East Erie gang members were indicted for being responsible for a lot of the drug distribution problem going on in the city. Four Nation, a gang located in the Central Eastside neighborhood of East Erie has been accused of drug distribution of 22 of its members were charged. Four Nation’s turf is located in the 400 block of East 24th Street between Parade Street and Wallace Street in Central Eastside which the neighborhood has seen a huge problem of constant gun violence and drug overdoses. Most of the gangs members are also responsible for some homicides and murders in the Central Eastside and Southeast Erie neighborhoods. The case is still ongoing and will provide more information when it becomes available by law enforcement.

 Victim Identified in Fatal Marvintown Shooting Article Written: June 12, 2023 at 10:14 AM The victim that was killed in a shooting in East Erie. 26 year old Quran Sims of East Erie was killed at his home in the 2900 block of French Street near East 30th Street in the Marvintown neighborhood of East Erie. The shooting occurred on June 3rd around 1 AM when multiple gunshots were fired inside Sims residence at 2921 French Street in Marvintown. Erie Police are still currently looking for the suspects involved and the house is still being held as a crime scene as investigations continue.

 PennDOT’s Bayfront Parkway Project to Continue Article Written: June 10, 2023 at 8:26 AM PennDOT’s Planned Improvements for East Bayfront Parkway & West Bayfront Parkway West Bayfront Erie, Pennsylvania The planned project to improve the Bayfront Parkway by PennDOT will continue with no further delays even after some controversy. Bayfront Parkway, a road that takes you from Interstate 79 in Erie to East 12th Street to the Bayfront Connector in East Erie, has served a purpose of connecting Erie and East Erie since 2004 and providing residents for easier access to Downtown Erie and the Bayfront. PennDOT is continuing with their plans to add two roundabouts, improved sidewalks and bike paths with pedestrian bridges and improve the intersection of Bayfront Parkway & State Street in Erie. Tops located at 1520 West 26th Street in the Brabender Park neighborhood of Erie is closing down permanently on June 23rd at 6 PM. The company announced the reason for the stores closure is that the lease is expiring and the company decided not to renew the stores lease, as well as the store being only 1.7 miles away from another Tops store, located at 712 West 38th Street in Erie. The company also stated that the West 38th Street store does better in sales than the West 26th Street store.  Two New Dollar General Stores to Open in Millcreek Article Written: June 9, 2023 at 12:58 PM Two new Dollar General stores are coming to Millcreek Township, one of them is already started with construction. Dollar General is currently working on building a new store at 4203 West Ridge Road in the Villa Dé Casa neighborhood of Millcreek, the store was approved by the Township in November and the company hopes to finish with construction by August or September. Another Dollar General was also approved by the Township to start construction, the future store is located in the 2300 block of West 38th Street in the Lakeview neighborhood of Millcreek, located right outside of the Lake Erie Plaza. These two new Dollar General stores would make a total of 30 Dollar General locations in Erie County when those two new stores open.

Charges Pending for East Erie Teen Stealing Phones and Bikes in Burton Article Written: June 9, 2023 at 12:32 PM A 15 year old East Erie Teen has charges pending for stealing phones and bikes from different people in the Burton neighborhood of East Erie. The teen, who’s name cannot be released by Erie Police due to being a minor, is accused of robbing three other people throughout the Burton neighborhood and has been caught on surveillance cameras stealing bikes from neighbors backyards. The 15 year old male lives in the 1900 block of Glendale Avenue in Burton and has had other pending charges from 2021 for also stealing bikes and assaults in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Burton and at the Woodlawn Avenue Park in Burton. The teen was also accused of stealing a iPhone in the 2300 block of Downing Avenue near Linwood Avenue in Burton and stealing another iPhone in the 2000 block of Fairmount Parkway near McCain Avenue in Burton. Charges are still currently pending for those incide
