Tops Friendly Markets has announced the closure of one of their Erie locations. Tops located at 1520 West 26th Street in the Brabender Park neighborhood of Erie is closing down permanently on June 23rd at 6 PM. The company announced the reason for the stores closure is that the lease is expiring and the company decided not to renew the stores lease, as well as the store being only 1.7 miles away from another Tops store, located at 712 West 38th Street in Erie. The company also stated that the West 38th Street store does better in sales than the West 26th Street store. This comes after Tops announced an expansion and remodel being done at the West 38th Street location in Erie as well as the East 38th Street location in East Erie. The gas station at the West 26th Street store will also permanently close with the store and the gas station will relocate to the new Tops Gas Station at the West 38th Street location which is currently in progress of being built. Tops also plans to build a Gas Station at the East Erie Tops if the new Gas Station at West 38th Street does well. Neighbors in the Brabender Park and Robbins Blass neighborhoods of Erie are very sadden by the closure. “This is the closest grocery store for me to walk to and I can’t afford shopping at the Whole Foods Co-Op as the store is way to expensive for me.” says Miguel Hose of Erie. The company announced no future plans as of yet for the Closing Tops store but neighbors in the area hope another grocery store can replace it. “It would be nice if they opened a Price Rite or an Aldi here as it will really benefit the people living in and around this area.” says Katy Reitinger of Erie.

 No Confirmation of Body Found in Lawrence Park is of Missing Lawrence Park Woman Article Added: November 15, 2023 at 2:04 PM Lawrence Park Police and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a tragic sight Wednesday morning in Lawrence Park. Lawrence Park Fire Department was called to the Lawrence Park Golf Club at 3700 East Lake Road in Lawrence Park where a body of a woman was found at the mouth of Fourmile Creek. Lawrence Park Police and Pennsylvania State Police have blocked off Fourmile Creek Road, East Lake Road to Lawrence Parkway, Iroquois Avenue and Nobel Avenue while the investigation is ongoing. Erie County Coroner, Lyell Cook has not released the name of the victim but has stated that there is no fowl play involved.
