Jaquan Harris was later charged with criminal homicide and first-degree murder. Multiple witnesses in the area heard about a dozen gunshots and took off to take cover. This wasn’t the first time a shooting took place at the Quick Stop store, in October 2021, 26 year old Kyontia Blanks of Erie shot and killed 40 year old Frederick Perry of Erie outside the store in the parking lot. “Where this convenience store is located is a definitely a problem area, there are gangs that live in the area of West 18th Street & Chestnut Street in Little Italy known as the 1800 Bloods so the Quick Stop always has constant problems with fights and unfortunately gun violence.” according to a statement from the Erie Police Department.
