The plans for the Harborcreek Starbucks location was moved to the empty grass lot behind Rite Aid in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle Plaza on Buffalo Road in Harborcreek. This news comes after Snap Fitness relocated out of the Giant Eagle Plaza to East 38th Street in Erie due to high rent. The building that was originally intended for Starbucks at 4625 Buffalo Road was completed but is now for rent after Starbucks decided to build in the 4100 block of Buffalo Road. The move was to be closer to the new Dunkin' Donuts located at 4005 Buffalo Road for competition which is still under construction and nearly complete. The plans for the Millcreek Plaza Starbucks relocation is still in the planning stage as well as the new Wegmans Drive Starbucks in Millcreek.
