Dollar General is planning on opening up a new store in Erie County, this time in Millcreek Township. The store plans on being built in the Caughey Heights neighborhood of Millcreek in the 4200 block of West Ridge Road near McKee Road, right across the street from the Dollar Tree store, most Millcreek residents are not very happy about this. "We already have a Dollar General store about 2.7 miles away from here and about 18 other Dollar General stores in the Erie area, this would make the 19th Store not counting the other 20 around Erie County." says Melissa Yeller, who lives in Caughey Heights in Millcreek. "It would be nice if Millcreek Township would fill the vacant abandoned buildings on 26th & Peninsula (West 26th Street & Peninsula Drive) instead of building new buildings, espically a Dollar General which we already have enough of those." says Donna Camp who lives in Villa Dé Casa in Millcreek. Millcreek Township is still deciding on approving the building permits for Dollar General to build at 4203 West Ridge Road by November 1st and if permits go through, construction plans on to be finished by Spring 2023.
