Wesleyville is the only borough in Erie County that is struggling with budget issues within the borough. Wesleyville's downtown district, which is locally known as Downtown Wesleyville has been struggling once again after it was revived a little bit in 2013 - 2015. More businesses have started to close in Downtown Wesleyville as well as blighted abandoned properties that have been popping up along Buffalo Road, the main road in the Downtown Wesleyville area. Erie Teen Charged in Saint Mary Shooting Article Written: September 30, 2022 at 8:05 PM An Erie teen was charged as an adult for shooting at an adult male in the Saint Mary neighborhood of East Erie on Saturday. 16 year old, Ashton Tolbert of West Bayfront was charged with attempted homicide for shooting a 39 year old man in the 800 block of German Street in Saint Mary. The victim was found a block away in the 200 block of East 8th Street near Holland Street in Saint Mary. The victim was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Despite Tolbert's age, he will be charged as an adult for the shooting.

Last night around 7:30 pm, Erie Police received a ton of calls for a group of kids shooting pellet nerf guns at cars, houses and people. The suspects were described as three African-American teens, all riding bikes and looked the ages of around 13-15. The first call came in at 7:35 PM in the 1700 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Burton for a group of kids on bikes shooting at an adult male who was fixing their vehicle in their driveway. Once the individual got on the phone with the police, the suspects took off southbound on Downing Avenue. Another call came in for windows being shot at with nerf pellet guns in the 2600 block of Downing Avenue in Burton Heights around 7:42 PM. 37 year old, Arthur Rogan of East Erie was the one who placed the call.  Man Dead After Overdose in Burton Apartment Building Article Written: September 17, 2022 at 2:56 PM Yesterday evening around 7 PM, Erie Police and EmergyCare responded to a call for a male not breathing at the Pear Apartments at 2326 Pear Street in the Burton Neighborhood of East Erie. Erie Police declined to name the victim but said it was a 55 year old man who lives on a first floor apartment in Pear Apartments. EmergyCare discovered the male had overdosed on Fentanyl. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. Erie Police are investigating on how the man got ahold of the Fentanyl, this comes in after an uptick of Fentanyl overdoses in Erie County with local leaders trying to prevent drug overdoses from occuring which is at an all time high this year.

 Another Fight Breaks Out During Erie High Football Game Article Written: September 9, 2022 at 10:09 AM A fight broke out during an Erie High School football game last Friday. The fight occurred around 8:35 pm at Veterans Memorial Stadium in the Marvintown neighborhood of East Erie. The fight was apparently caused by four Erie High parents during the football game between Erie High School of Erie and Buffalo State College of Buffalo. Erie Police responded to the fight and students were told to evacuate the stadium as they handle the situation. The four Erie High parents were charged with Disorderly Conduct. After the situation calmed down, students were allowed back to the stadium and the football game continued with Buffalo State winning with a 27-7. The game continued without further incidents. Last year on September 3rd, a massive fight occurred between Erie High students during a football game at Veterans Memorial Stadium which led to Erie Police using pepperspray on a few individu
