We looked at neighborhood crime rates in the City of Erie to determine what neighborhoods are best for you to live in if you plan on moving anywhere into the City of Erie, here are those Top 10 neighborhoods, number 1 being the greatest.

10. Robbins Blass


Robbins Blass is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie and has about 1,000 people living there. It has one park which is Pebble Lake Park. The neighborhood is located near West 26th Street which has a bunch of shopping opitions and is located close to Tops Plaza West. The crime rate is Robbins Blass is very low but does sometimes have issues with car break-ins, however very rare and fellow neighbors watch out for each other. The schools students in Robbins Blass would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.








9. Baldwin Park


Baldwin Park is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie and has about 2,000 people living there. It has one park which is Baldwin Park, which the neighborhood is named after. Baldwin Park has their very own branch of the Erie Fire Department The neighborhood is located near West 26th Street with many shopping options. Crime rate is low but car break-ins do occur in this neighborhood, however very rarely, neighbors do watch out for one another and look out for each other so you feel a sense of safety. The schools students in Baldwin Park would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.






8. Erie Terrace

Erie Terrace is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie and has about 2,000 people living there. Erie Terrace has a nice huge park located outside the neighborhood nearby called C. Francis Haggerty Park. The neighborhood is located between West 32nd Street and West 38th Street, however the portion of those streets the neighborhood is in, shopping is a bit of a further drive. Neighborhood is very safe and crime rarely ever occurs, neighbors watch out for each other. The school's students in Erie Terrace would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.








7. Evanston Heights

Evanston Heights is a small neighborhood located in the west side of Erie and has about 1,000 people living there. Evanston Heights is very quiet and crime rarely occurs at all. However, shopping is a bit of a further drive and the closest big shopping center would be Tops Plaza West, another huge shopping center, Liberty Center, is a further drive out of the neighborhood. The closest park to the neighborhood is C. Francis Haggerty Park or Baldwin Park. The schools students in Evanston Heights would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.







6. Southland Hills

Southland Hills is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie with about 1,000 people living there. Southland Hills is located very close to West 26th Street which provides many opportunities for shopping as well as being fairly close to Tops Plaza West. Crime in the neighborhood is very low and rarely occurs. The two closest parks to Southland Hills is Larry Fabrizi Park and Baldwin Park. A very tasty ice cream parlor, Maria's Tasty Delights is located in Southland Hills! The schools students in Southland Hills would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.









5. Longacre Village

Longacre Village is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie with about 3,000 people living there. Longacre Village is close to many shopping options along Peach Street and located not far from Liberty Center. Crime rate in Longacre Village is fairly low however houses in the neighborhood are a bit expensive ranging from $100,000 - $300,000. The closest park to the neighborhood is not too far away which is Reservoir Park, the other nearby park which is Glenwood Park is a further drive out of the neighborhood. The Erie Zoo is also located nearby the neighborhood however it is a bit of a further drive. The schools students in Longacre Village would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.

4. Eastlawn Hills

Eastlawn Hills is a neighborhood located in the east side of Erie with about 3,000 people living there, Eastlawn Hills is right off of the Bayfront Connector which makes it a great neighborhood to live in if you plan on attending Penn State Behrend in Harborcreek Township. There is a good amount of shopping options located in the neighborhood which is Perry Plaza as well as Wesleyville and Harborcreek Township not being a far drive from the neigborhood for shopping. There is two parks located in and out of the neighborhood which is McClelland Park and East Erie Nature Trail Park. Crime is very low in Eastlawn Hills however the neighborhoods outside of Eastlawn Hills like Burton and Diehl aren't very safe when it comes to crime, so crime in Eastlawn Hills would possibly not be rare, however neighbors watch out for each other frequently. The schools students in Eastlawn Hills would attend is Diehl Elementary School and Wilson Middle School.

3. Garden Heights

Garden Heights is a neighborhood located in the east side of Erie with a population of about 2,000 people. Crime in the neighborhood is very rare and the neighborhood is located near the Bayfront Connector and East 38th Street which provides many shopping options as well as easy access for more shopping in Wesleyville and Harborcreek Township. However, houses in Garden Heights are bit more expensive with most being around the price range of $100,000 - $300,000. There is a few parks located near Garden Heights, one in the neighborhood which is Garden Heights Park and two outside the neighborhood which is McClelland Park and East Erie Nature Trail Park. The schools students in Garden Heights would attend is Jo Anna Connell Elementary School and Wilson Middle School.

Frontier is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie with about 4,000 people living there. Frontier is very safe and crime rarely ever occurs in the neighborhood. There is a park located inside the neighborhood which is Frontier Park which is one of the largest parks in the City of Erie. There is also a LECOM campus located in Frontier. Frontier is also located not far from many shopping options along West 8th Street and is just a short drive away from more shopping options in Millcreek Township as well as Presque Isle State Park. However, houses are expensive in Frontier, ranging from cheapest from $300,000 - $600,000 to most expensive being $800,000 - $1,300,000. The schools students in Frontier would attend is Harding Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.

Glenwood is a neighborhood located in the west side of Erie with a population of 5,000 people and is considered to be one of the most safest neighborhood in the city. Glenwood was ranked as #1 best neighborhood in Erie to raise a family. Glenwood has two parks which the largest is Glenwood Park and the smallest is Reservoir Park. The Erie Zoo is also located right outside of Glenwood as well as a public golf course which is Joseph C. Martin Golf Course. There is many shopping options located near Glenwood, there is Liberty Center as well as the neighborhood being close to West 38th Street & Peach Street which is full of many shopping opitions, the neighborhood is also located very close to Millcreek Township which provides more access to shopping as well as the Millcreek Mall. Glenwood's crime rate is extremely low ranked from very rare to almost none, neighbors in the area also watch out for each other. However, the price range for houses in Glenwood can be fairly expensive being from $100,000 - $400,000. The schools students in Glenwood would attend is Grover Cleveland Elementary School and Strong Vincent Middle School.
