 Marvintown Neighborhood Experiences Uptick in Crime

The Marvintown neighborhood in East Erie has been experiencing an uptick in criminal activity especially in shootings in the area of East 28th Street. Earlier this month on February 8th, A 13 year old was shot in the face in a vehicle driving in the 2800 block of German Street near East 28th Street in Marvintown. Then on February 11th, Erie Police arrested a juvenile after a shots fired call in the 300 block of East 28th Street near German Street in Marvintown. Then another shooting yesterday occurred in the 400 block of East 28th Street in Marvintown where a male was shot in the leg while trying to fight off someone who was forcing their way into their residence. Erie Police are continuing to investigate these shooting incidents to see if the shootings are connected or possibly being gang related.
