 Marvintown Neighborhood Experiences Uptick in Crime Article Written: February 21, 2021 at 5:19 PM The Marvintown neighborhood in East Erie has been experiencing an uptick in criminal activity especially in shootings in the area of East 28th Street. Earlier this month on February 8th, A 13 year old was shot in the face in a vehicle driving in the 2800 block of German Street near East 28th Street in Marvintown. Then on February 11th, Erie Police arrested a juvenile after a shots fired call in the 300 block of East 28th Street near German Street in Marvintown. Then another shooting yesterday occurred in the 400 block of East 28th Street in Marvintown where a male was shot in the leg while trying to fight off someone who was forcing their way into their residence. Erie Police are continuing to investigate these shooting incidents to see if the shootings are connected or possibly being gang related.

Local Teens Help to Clean Up Storm Damage at McClelland Park Article Written: February 21, 2022 at 12:37 PM 17 Year Old, Justin V. of Millcreek cleaning tree limbs at McClelland Park Eastlawn Hills, Erie, Pennsylvania Local Erie Teens are helping out the community today by cleaning up trash and broken tree limbs all along the trails at McClelland Park in the Eastlawn Hills neighborhood of East Erie. 17 year old, Justin V. of Millcreek, 18 year old, Charlie Moyer of Erie and 17 year old, Kayla B. of Erie were all helping out today to clean up the trails. “It’s feels really good helping out the community especially since I grew up not far from this park.” says Justin. Justin and Charlie both grew up in the Burton neighborhood of East Erie, while they both lived streets apart, they both enjoy helping out and cleaning up the garbage in the east side of Erie. “Growing up on Woodlawn in Burton was tough due to the crime in the neighborhood, but I would always try and help keep trash off the

 Man Shot in Leg in East Erie Article Written: February 21, 2022 at 12:24 PM. Erie Police Respond to Shooting at 432 East 28th Street Marvintown, Erie, Pennsylvania City of Erie Police are investigating a shooting after reports of a man getting shot in the leg on Sunday afternoon. This happened at around 4:30 pm on February 20th in the 400 block of East 28th Street near Florida Avenue in the Marvintown neighborhood of East Erie. The victim that was shot was taken to a local hospital and as of right now, we are unclear on how serious the victim’s injury is. Erie Police are still continuing to investigate.
