 Two Shooting Incidents in Burton Area, Police Believe Could Be Gang Related

Two different shooting incidents happened at two different times in the Burton area of East Erie. Erie Police were first called to a shots fired incident around 2 am last night in the 2400 block of Pear Street in Burton, neighbors in the area told police that somebody in a white car drove on Pear Street from Woodlawn Avenue and started shooting at houses in the area, damaging the window of one house on the corner of Pear Street & Glendale Avenue. The car then sped off on Pear Street and turned West onto Fairmount Parkway. Then, this afternoon around 12 pm, Erie Police responded to another shots fired called, this time in the Burton Heights neighborhood in the 2100 block of Warfel Avenue near East 21st Street. Nobody was injured but the same problem as last night, a white car, now identified as a Ford, shooting at houses in the area. Erie Police have the license plate of the vehicle and will be looking into it to see if the two shooting incidents are connected together, as well as this might possibly be gang related do to the color of the car being one of the colors for a Burton neighborhood gang in East Erie.
