 Two Shooting Incidents in Burton Area, Police Believe Could Be Gang Related Article Written: June 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM Two different shooting incidents happened at two different times in the Burton area of East Erie. Erie Police were first called to a shots fired incident around 2 am last night in the 2400 block of Pear Street in Burton, neighbors in the area told police that somebody in a white car drove on Pear Street from Woodlawn Avenue and started shooting at houses in the area, damaging the window of one house on the corner of Pear Street & Glendale Avenue. The car then sped off on Pear Street and turned West onto Fairmount Parkway. Then, this afternoon around 12 pm, Erie Police responded to another shots fired called, this time in the Burton Heights neighborhood in the 2100 block of Warfel Avenue near East 21st Street. Savocchio Business Park Burton, Erie, Pennsylvania If you drive to Paragon Drive from Downing Avenue in Burton, you may notice nothing but overgrown fields,  garbage and dumped trash in the street, three houses and only one business. Paragon Print Systems is the only business that was constructed in Joyce A. Savocchio Business Park, the rest of the land on the whole street is for sale. The business park which opened in 2005 and was developed on land that was a former superfund site as well as expanded a street westbound. Paragon Drive was originally called East 16th Street and the street name was changed once the business park was being developed. The plans were to bring industrial businesses and more jobs to East Erie as well as the Burton neighborhood

 New Taco Bell Coming To East Erie Article Written: June 10, 2021 at 10:40 AM Demolished Former Pizza Hut East 38th & Zimmerman Road Walczak Park, Erie, Pennsylvania A New Taco Bell will be coming to East Erie very soon! The Former Pizza Hut at 2007 East 38th Street in Walczak Park was demolished yesterday as plans for a new Taco Bell restaurant come forward. Taco Bell is to start construction next week and be finished by the end of summer or possibly fall. Residents in the Walczak Park and Southeast Erie neighborhood of East Erie are very excited to finally have a new fast food chain on East 38th Street. "We're glad to have Arby's and when Pizza Hut left there was really no other place to go to up this way, so i'm glad we don't have to drive all the way to Harborcreek to go to Taco Bell anymore." says Karen Wells who lives on Carney Avenue in Walczak Park.
