The plans were to bring industrial businesses and more jobs to East Erie as well as the Burton neighborhood. After many bankruptcy’s, financial disputes and many promises that never happened, most of the land for the business park is up for sale once again. This is the 4th time any of the land has been put for sale and there’s one big reason why nobody wants to buy the land, the neighborhood it’s in. The business park is located right next door to the Harbor Homes Apartments, locally known as The Holly Projects and it’s had a bad reputation for crime and gangs since the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Now, crime in the housing complex has been dropping since then and the business park still has no buyers at all. There’s been many attempts to help bring businesses there in 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2019 and finally in 2021 but nothing has been done. The only business that ever opened was Paragon Print Systems all the way back in 2007. Joyce A. Savocchio Business Park has been deemed a commercial failure for years and a big example as why industry never does well in today’s generation. As of now nothing still has been done about the business park has there were many promises in the past few years and nothing ever came of it.
