 Erie Police Searching For Three People Involved in East Erie Car Break-Ins

Erie Police are currently searching for two people who are involved with breaking and looking into cars throughout the East Erie area. Erie Police were first made aware of the incidents starting on December 14th in the 2200 block of Reed Street near East 22nd Street in the Central Eastside neighborhood of East Erie. Local Ring cameras on neighboring houses in the area caught two suspects wearing dark hoodies going around using flashlights and looking into cars and checking to see if their unlocked, the two suspects got into a few cars left unlocked by mistake in the 700 block of East 21st Street in Central Eastside. The same night, the same two suspects were caught on camera breaking into cars and using flashlights in the 1100 block of East 31st Street near Brandes Street in Southeast Erie. On December 16th, the same two suspects were spotted once again using flashlights and breaking into cars, this time in the 2800 block of Davison Avenue near East 28th Street in Southeast Erie, some residents reported three people involved and around the ages of 14 years old. The same night, residents in the 200 block of East 24th Street near Holland Street in Central City reported three people going around breaking into cars. The three suspects were then caught on camera in the 2800 block of Brandes Street near East 29th Street in Southeast Erie, this time looking into windows of houses as well as looking into cars. On December 18th, two suspects were spotted going around the 3100 block of Burton Avenue in Southeast Erie breaking into cars once again. "We think that these three individuals live somewhere in the East Erie area since the areas they hit up are mostly in the Southeast Erie neighborhood area, we think these three individuals might live somewhere in the Southeast Erie neighborhood, we are continuing to investigate these and we thank the residents for providing their security camera footage." says Daniel Spizarny, Chief of Police for Erie Police Department. On December 21st, the same two suspects were spotted in the 2300 block of Kilpatrick Avenue in Burton Heights doing the same thing as usual, going around in the neighborhood looking for unlocked cars and using flashlights to look into car windows. The next day on December 22nd, this time one suspect was caught on camera checking cars in the Burton neighborhood, the streets were 2000 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Burton, 2000 block of Glendale Avenue in Burton, 1900 block of Glendale Avenue in Burton and the 1900 block of Linwood Avenue in Burton. Then Today on January 4th, the same previous suspect in the other East Erie car break-ins was spotted once again, this time in South East Hills. The suspect broke into cars in the 4100 block of Sunset Boulevard in South East Hills, 700 block of East 35th Street in South East Hills and 3400 block of Wayne Street in South East Hills. Erie Police are continuing to investigate and have been doing frequent patrols in East Erie during nighttime, when these car break-ins occur.
