Four East Erie abandoned houses are being purchased by the Erie Land Bank as an attempt to save the houses. There is plans to demolish the homes but there is also plans to sell the homes if they are in good condition. The four homes are located in the 2600 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Diehl, 600 block of East 6th Street in East Bayfront, 1700 block of Fairmount Parkway in Burton and the 1900 block of Prospect Avenue in Burton. Most of the local residents are hoping that this will help remove the crime occuring inside these abandoned homes. "People keep breaking in the home and doing drugs in there and they keep smashing down the door." says a neighbor of an abandoned Burton home on Prospect Avenue.
