 Young Child Shot In Drive-By Shooting in East Erie Article Written: April 15, 2022 at 9:21 AM. Erie Police Respond To Shooting 2200 Downing Avenue Burton, Erie, Pennsylvania A young child was shot in the head yesterday evening while playing outside their residence.  The shooting happened around 7:45 pm in the 2200 block of Downing Avenue near Fairmount Parkway in the Burton neighborhood of East Erie. Erie Police said that the young 7 year old boy was playing outside with sibling in front of their house when a male drove by and shot at the boy 8 times and taking off south towards Downing Avenue in Burton. The boy was flown to UPMC in Pittsburgh for treatment and is in critical condition. Erie Police are still working to investigate the Burton shooting and what caused a young child to be shot.

 Police Chase Involving U-Haul Truck Ends in Crash in East Erie Article Written: April 13, 2022 at 2:15 PM The  U-Haul vehicle that was involved in a high-speed chase in Erie County on Monday was used to steal more than $17,000 worth of items from Tractor Supply Company in Summit Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Troopers started investigating the burglary Monday morning after learning multiple items were stolen from the fenced area beside the Tractor Supply store on Downs Drive in Summit Township overnight. Three youth ATVs, a go-kart, trimmer mower, two mini-bikes and a Toro 54" zero-turn mower with a total value of $17,279 were stolen, and the vehicle believed to be used in the burglary was a  U-Haul box truck, investigators said.
