 Two People Shot Dead in Apparent Gang War Shooting in Burton Heights

At 12:02 PM, Erie County 911 reported to us that they have gotten a ton of calls regarding multiple shots fired and cars tires squealing in the Burton Heights neighborhood of East Erie. Erie Police were quickly dispatched to the scene and arrived to the 2000 block of Elm Street and East 22nd Street in Burton Heights. Erie Police then were quickly in a pursuit chasing down the dark Honda onto Fairmount Parkway & Broad Street when the suspects crashed into a fence in the 1400 block of Buffalo Road in Burton Heights. Erie Police arrested 19 year old Fred Lenzo and 29 year old Michael Claridge both of East Erie. Witnesses reported that Fred and Michael were part of the 1700 block of Linwood gang in Burton and started shooting at the homes in the 2000 block of Elm Street when 3 white cars pulled up on Fairmount Parkway and started shooting at Fred and Michael. Two people were reported shot dead, 26 year old Enzo Fylish and 18 year old Wegenster Logger, both of East Erie as well. Erie Police believe the other suspects in the white cars were possibly part of the Woodlawn Avenue gang in Burton or possibly another East Erie gang. Elm Street to Fairmount Parkway & the 1300-1500 blocks of Buffalo Road have been blocked off until Erie Police is done investigating the crime scene and cleaning up what happened.
