At 6:25 PM, Erie County 911 revived multiple calls in the Burton neighborhood of East Erie for multiple gunshots and screaming. Erie Police responded to the 1500 block of Linwood Avenue & Camphausen Avenue and arrested 26 year old Danzo Lopez and 29 year old Miska Lernezo who both told officers they were the ones who shot the people. 3 people were injured from gunshots but the names haven’t been released yet, they were all life flighted to UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh. Danzo and Miska told Erie Police that the individuals were saying they were part of a gang and said the shooting was in self defense, but witnesses to the shooting told a different story. “There we a group of men just walking on Linwood talking to each other and then Danzo came out of his house and started shooting at them saying “Linwood Block Our Turf’ it was terrifying and I had to make sure my kids weren’t playing outside when it happened.” says Mary who wants her last name private, Mary lives on the corner of Linwood & Camphausen and saw the shooting from her doorstep. The 1500 Block of Linwood Avenue and the 2200 block of Camphausen Avenue in Burton is closed off to traffic until Erie Police gets the whole situation under control and the scene is cleared up.
