But one neighborhood in Erie has been having the most problems with illegal riders and its Burton Heights. Today, Erie Police recieved the 3rd call reporting a group of illegal ATV riders who were riding up and down Downing Avenue & East 28th Street multiple times annoying neighbors and residents. Erie Police said this is the 3rd time that this area has seen a problem with ATV riders and its different people everytime. Erie Police said the first time they got calls in Burton was for a group of guys riding ATVs on neighbors properties in the 1700 block of Linwood Avenue in Burton. The second time was for people riding ATVs up and down Downing to an abandoned gravel pit on East 28th & Downing, and then today they got another call for the same thing. "The owners of the old gravel pit here have actually started putting security cameras up since they've been having many problems with people getting in and causing problems, they are actually starting to think of putting an electric fence up to prevent people from getting in at all." says Erie Police. The owners of the former gravel factory in the 2700 block of Downing in Burton Heights declined to comment about the situation.
