Yesterday around 3:40 PM, Erie Police responded to a call for an attempted break-in in the 700 block of  Tacoma Road in the Franklin Park neighborhood of East Erie. Once Erie Police arrived, police were talking to a shaken up 41 year old female who told police what exactly happened. Maria, who wishes to keep her last name secret, told police that a black male who Maria claims she had no idea who it was, tried to break into her apartments by using a crowbar against the door, then tried opening her bedroom window with it as well. Maria was home at the time and was calling police while it was happening, her neighbors at the apartment in front of hers at 745 Tacoma Road saw what was happening and called police and yelled at the suspect to "Get away from here now or you will be shot!" The suspect ran off and Maria gave the best description to police as she could. Erie Police are still investigating on what happened and to try and track down the man who tried to break in to her apartment.
