Erie Rapper Charged with Attempted Homicide for July Shooting in East Erie Article Written: August 2, 2025 10:30 AM 26 year old Rod Tate of Lawrenceville, Georgia Charged and arrested by Erie Police Department An Erie rapper was recently charged for being involved with a shooting in East Erie in July. 26 year old Rod Tate of Lawrenceville, Georgia, who is originally from East Erie, was charged with attempted homicide after firing at a crowd of 11 people at 8 PM on July 20th at the intersection of East 24th Street and Wallace Street in the Central Eastside neighborhood. A 28 year old East Erie man was hit by the gunfire and suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh during the incident. The affidavit states that social media posts as far as November 2024 reveal an ongoing feud between Tate and the victim.
